This is the website of the descendants of James and Jane Rundle who arrived in South Australia with their family of four children, on 14th December 1863 on board the Sir John Lawrence. The family initially settled in the Yankalilla district, but moved to the Kulpara—Paskeville area in 1877.
Following the early death of her husband James, in 1867, Jane married (Rev) Charles Lee and had two more children. This second family is integral to the Rundle story, and details of that family are part of a history of the Lee family currently in preparation.
The combined family tree is available here.
Family History Book
A family history has been prepared titled, Farmers — Devon to South Australia, The story of James and Jane Rundle and their family. This book describes how three generations of the family farmed the land, initially in Devon and then in various parts of South Australia. It documents their hardships, achievements and contribution to the life of their rural communities, as they strove to bring land into production, and build properties that would provide for their growing families.
